My patient, a 50-year old women, works in the stock market industry and holds a very responsible position.

As part of her job, she is required to make extremely quick decisions, and act before she had a chance to think. Recently this demanding situations hasn’t been working too well, and as a result some mistakes were made. That and not being able to have time to think to avoid similar mistakes in the future led to even more pressure and inability to perform well at this demanding job.

This constant stress resulted in quarrels at home and conflicts with her colleagues on work. She complained of having bad dreams, dominated by a very bright high frequency color.

Even at nights she couldn’t rest and her head continued to work. Obviously in the morning she gets up tired and nervous. Not a good way to start her days at her highly stressful job.

Diagnosis

Typically stress problems are connected with the Liver. As is known from TCM, Liver meridian is responsible for organism’s vitality, and its normal current promotes harmony in an organism, in feelings and life in general. It’s also responsible for the quality of dreams.

Treatment

In all the treatments I used Jin Shin acupressure.

After 8 sessions, occurring once a week, she told me that she no longer made rush decisions, didn’t hurry to answer questions, felt more confident and stopped doing mechanical mistakes.

We continued the treatment, which had profound effects on my patient’s life. One could tell that even her character changed. She became more tolerant, which eliminated conflicts at home and work. Her dreams became more pleasant and she no longer had the disturbing ones. She could no longer be bothered by every little insignificant issue.

It’s has been several months since her treatments were completed. Since then she got a raise, was promoted
and now she feels as if she’s a different person.

In the treatment I used the following Jin Shin formulas:

The Great Regulator – to balance Yin and Yang.

The Liver and the Gall Bladder meridians – to balance the Liver.

The Kidney meridian – to balance the energy level as a whole.

My patient came to me with her 14-year old daughter. The girl had been suffering from epigastric pain for a year. (“Epigastric pain” means pain in the stomach area.) During the epigastric pain sometimes there was a headache. At age of 12 the girl had the Gall Bladder removal operation. Her mom recalls that in her early childhood the girl often expressed anger and used to be very irritable.

The girl was very worried before the first treatment and refused to do acupuncture.

Her mom thought that some of the medicine her daughter took could have been the cause of the pain, but she couldn’t figure which one if any was at fault.

Diagnosis

The epigastric pain in this case is connected with the emotional condition
of the girl. Emotion problems have a profound influence on stomach disorders. Emotion of anger in the TCM is connected with the meridians of the Gall Bladder and the Liver. Emotional states such as anger and resentment lead to situation described in 5-Element terms as Wood overacting on Earth. If the predominant emotion is outright and expressed anger leading to Liver-Yang rising, it prevents the Stomach-Qi from descending, which results in epigastric pain.

Treatment

In the first session I found a painful point in standard corresponding system of Su Jok and applied massage to it. Then I used Moxa to warm up this point. Next I put a chakral’s magnet on this point for 4 o’clock.

I explained to the girl how to attach a buckwheat grain on painful points for self-treatments at home.

After the first session the pain disappeared and did not appear any more. I continued the treatments in which I used Jin Shin Acupressure. I used three formulas: The Great Regulator, Liver and Gall Bladder.

The girl has been healthy for more than a year now.

A 54 year-old woman had been suffering from a strong allergy which manifested as a strong skin itch in the wrist area and a strong stomach swelling, especially in the evenings.

After the course treatment of cortisone preparations failed to deal with the condition, and since none of the other conventional medicine she had tried before worked, she contacted me.

She told me that she had been suffering from a climacteric syndrome since the age of 49.

Based on the previous experience I’ve decided to check whether she might be allergic to gluten. Gluten is known to cause an allergic reaction to people who are sensitive to it. Gluten is a usual ingredient in bread and other flour-based products.

I tested a variety of food products twice — once using the pendulum and a second time using the TestBalance device.

When testing with Pendulum, I held the pendulum in the right hand, while holding the patient’s hand in my left, while the patient held various foods and medicines in her hand. Pendulum indicated when the object contained gluten and she might have been allergic to it, and then the suggestion was confirmed by the labels.

Testing with TestBalance was somewhat similar. When a food product was undesirable to the client was held by her, TestBalance would show an increase in deficiency or excess of the Spleen Meridian.

This little test showed that the more recent prescriptions she had been using had a considerable amount of gluten in it. I recommended that my patient review her food and medicines and as much as possible eliminate gluten-based products from her diet.

With this patient, gluten had a delayed effect. She would eat a slice of bread (with gluten) in the morning, and she would then get a bloated stomach in the evening.

Once she followed my recommendation and gluten was eliminated from her diet, the situation started to improve. The itch disappeared and her stomach bloats only infrequently.

She has been watching for gluten in her foods for approximately a year. Now when she occasionally eats bread with gluten it doesn’t cause the allergic reaction anymore.

While she had the allergy, I treated her with conditioning massage and Jin-Shin Acupressure.
