										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h2>A Set of 4 Body Movements to Deal with Constipation</h2>
<p>The following is a wonderful simple to perform set of body movements that helps to facilitate a bowel movement when things don&#8217;t move too well on their own. This set is normally used while performing a yogic kriya (cleanse) technique called <em>Shanka Prakshalana</em>, to move the water out through the intestines, but it works really well for moving the feces through the &#8220;plumbing&#8221; and out of your system just as well. It also could help with bloating, when the gas doesn&#8217;t come out, but be gentle using it in this condition so not to cause any additional pain.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>The set of movements</strong></p>
<p align="justify">Perform the following sequence of movements. Each movement should be repeated quickly alternating at least four times on each side (therefore four double movements).<span id="more-342"></span></p>
<p align="justify"><strong>1. The first movement</strong>. Stand with soles 30 cm apart, fingers inter?locked with palms upward, and back straight. Without twisting the trunk, lean to the left and then to the right without any break. These movements open the stomach, and after each bend some of the digested food leaves the stomach toward the intestines.</p>

<p align="justify"><strong>2. The second movement</strong>. Stand with soles 30 cm. apart. Stretch the right arm laterally (i.e. horizontally), and bend the left arm, so that the thumb and index touch the right collar bone; the left elbow is at the height of the shoulder. Then twist the trunk toward the right, pointing the out stretched arm backward, as far as possible. The gaze must follow the tips of the fingers. Do not stop at the end of the movement, but swiftly re?turn to the start?ing position, and then perform the movement on the opposite side. This move?ment pushes the unwanted matter forward in the intestine.</p>

<p align="justify"><strong>3. The third move?ment</strong>. Perform a variation of the Cobra pose (<em>B</em>hujangasa?na), in which only the toes and the fingers touch the ground. The soles must be 30 cm apart. Then twist the shoulders and the head until it becomes possible to gaze at the opposite heel (over the shoulder). Do not stop, but swiftly return and continue on the opposite side. This movement pushes the feces further through the small intestine, so that now it reaches the large one.</p>

<p align="justify"><strong>4. The fourth movement</strong>. The feces will be con?ducted through the large intestine until the end, due to this last move?ment. Crouch with your soles 30 cm apart. Place the hands on the knees, which are about 50 cm apart. Next, twist the trunk toward the right, so as to place the left knee on the ground besides the right foot. The hands push the right thigh toward the left, and the left thigh towards the right. Also spin the head in the same direction, so that you gaze backward. Then, without stopping, return, and continue on the opposite side, symmetrically. Of all four, this is the only movement in which the side on which one begins is important. Therefore one should always begin by placing the left knee on the ground. Also, of all four this is the only one which has a variation for those with stiff knees.</p>

If you find you can&#8217;t perform the fourth movement as described, here is an easier variation of it. Sit on the floor with legs stretched out forward together. Bend the right leg and place its sole on the ground, beside the left knee. Twist the trunk toward the right, grasping the right toes with the left hand, and gaze backwards (see picture). Return swiftly, and continue symmetrically.</p>

<h2>The Importance of Squatting While Evacuating</h2>
<p>While western-style toilets are comfortable to sit on they aren&#8217;t the most conducive for evacuating due to the unnatural angle they put your body in. While squatting your &#8220;plumbing&#8221; gets aligned and opened properly for easy elimination. <p id="title">Finding a squat-toilet would be very difficult in the west, and most westerners dislike those anyway, but have no fear as there is a workaround for that issue &#8211; all you need to do is to build or acquire a little squat-stool so that when you sit on the toilet you put your feet up, which emulates almost a perfect squatting position, while you still rest on the toilet sit with your knees up (see the illustration).<span id="productTitle"> <a href="http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008G9B11E/?tag=theultimatlearna" rel="nofollow">Squatty Potty</a> is one of the more popular ones (I own one and it just works), but there are other similar products out there and have been on the market for quite a few years now. This would be the best $30+ ever invested for your wellbeing, especially so if constipation is your thing.<br />

<h2>Where To Find Acupressure Points That Will Help You To Get Rid Of The Toothache?</h2>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The most effective way to control toothache is to apply pressure on points that are located </span></span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong>around your thumb nail.</strong></span></span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> You will have to find which acupressure point is corresponding to your aching tooth. If the aching tooth is located in the lower jaw, then its corresponding acupressure point will be located near the end of the nail (i.e. edge of the finger). If on the other hand, the ache located on the upper jaw, then the corresponding acupressure point will be located near the root of the nail, i.e. where it starts to grow. </span></span></p>

<p>You can use the thumb either on the left or the right hand.</p>
<h2>How To Apply Pressure On The Acupressure Points?</h2>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">With the aid of a massage stick or a similar object such as a toothpick, or the end of a ball-point pen (without ink), find the most painful spot that is also corresponding to the aching tooth, and massage that spot thoroughly, for several minutes. Usually, the pain will be diminished or even disappear entirely. If it didn&#8217;t help check again that you used the right acupressure point. After that, thoroughly warm-up that spot with the <a title="How to Use Moxa" href="/healing/2008/07/how-to-use-moxa/">help of a Moxa</a> (mini-Moxa would work best) and then attach a buckwheat seed with a help of a band-aid. From time to time, apply some pressure on the seed. It can remain there, until the pain goes away.</span></span></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Insomnia</strong> is characterized by persistent difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep despite having all the conditions conducive to normal sleep. It&#8217;s a symptom of a sleeping disorder. Due to lack of sleep, insomniacs typically suffer from functional impairment while awake.</p>
<p>Insomnia could happen because of neuroses, some cardiovascular and mental diseases and also due to damages of brain formations regulating correct alternation of a dream and wakefulness.</p>
<p>Normally healthy people could also have an occasional <strong>insomnia</strong> which could appear after a physical or intellectual over strain, exhaustion, or due to strong emotions.</p>
<p>It is possible and necessary to cope with this disease. But ideally without the pills, as they don&#8217;t help to bring a normal sleep, which must include dreaming, and also pills can create a dependency and the body could create a tolerance to drugs, requiring an increased dosage.</p>
<p>Therefore I would like to offer simple and accessible to everyone ways to get rid of insomnia without resorting to medicine.<br />

<h3>The Techniques</h3>
<p>First <a href="/healing/2008/07/how-to-use-moxa/">using Moxa</a> heat up the basic power points as shown on figures 1 to 3.</p>

Next massage areas corresponding to neck, back of the head and epiphysis ( figure 4 )</p>

<p>and points corresponding to kidney. These points are on the back of a palm in small recesses ( figures 5 and 6 ). Massage those areas using your fingers, without applying too much pressure.</p>

<p>Do these two procedures before going to sleep.</p>
<p>If after trying those techniques a few times you are still not getting the desired effect, try to add the following technique in addition to the ones mentioned earlier.</p>
<p>Place fingers according to figure 7 and hold them for 3 to 4 minutes. You should feel relaxed now and will quickly fall asleep.</p>

<p>If you woke up and can&#8217;t fall back asleep simply paint up finger tips by dark blue felt-tip pen. This procedure is especially good for children who can&#8217;t sleep.</p>
<p>Finally, if you are tormented by bad dreams, before you are going to sleep, massage the point specified on figure 8.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The hemorrhoids are varicose expansion of hemorrhoid veins (an abnormally swollen vein ) in the anus or rectum.<br />
This is one of the most widespread diseases. Symptoms of this disease include bleeding rectum, loss of hemorrhoidal bolus, accompanied by itching, inflammation and sometimes thrombosis. According to statistics women, and men are equally susceptible to hemorrhoids.</p>
<p>The chronic hemorrhoids behave cyclically, i.e. the condition improves and deteriorates in cycles. However left without a serious treatment this illness gradually progresses and can suddenly take the acute form which could lead to thrombosis.</p>
<p>The acute form of disease is characterized by a strong splitting pain and a sensation of having an alien object in rectum. These sensations are very acute during bowel movement, walking and sitting.</p>
<p><span id="more-181"></span>One of the main reasons for hemorrhoid problems is inadequate diet, with too few fibers, which leads to hard bowel movements and frequent constipations, which create constant straining during bowel movement.</p>
<p>Inactive way of life, sedentary work, adiposity, pregnancy and childbirth, unnecessary body weight, too many hot baths, smoking and constant stresses also provoke development of hemorrhoids.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s really important that you see a doctor at the first appearance of hemorrhoids.</p>
<p>It is possible to considerably accelerate the healing process using a simple technique used in Su Jok therapy.</p>
<h2>Treatment</h2>
<p>First find most painful points on areas corresponding to the rectum according to figure 1.</p>

<p>Now find a little stick with a not too sharp edge (a toothpick with a broken sharp edge, a ball pen without ink and will do). You&#8217;re going to use this stick to massage those painful points. Press these points with a moderate effort and begin a slow rotation of the stick in two directions. Carry out this massage for several minutes. See figure 2.</p>

<p>Next paint over these areas with dark blue color. For this purpose it is possible to use an ordinary felt-tip pen.<br />
Finally apply buckwheat seeds to these areas. This is the same technique as explained in &#8220;<a href="/healing/2008/07/how-to-get-rid-of-neck-pain-self-healing-techniques-series/">How To Get Rid Of Neck Pain</a>&#8221; step 3.</p>

<h2>Advice on diet</h2>
<p>As mentioned in the introduction, your diet is really important if you have hemorrhoids or you want to avoid those.</p>
<p>Your daily diet should include sufficient amount of liquids (between 2 to 3 liters) and products possessing salutary action on intestinal peristalsis &#8211; black and bran bread, crude vegetables and fruit, prunes, cereal and buckwheat groats.</p>
<p>It&#8217;d be beneficial to avoid entirely consuming whole milk and products from refined white flour. Sour-milk products on the other hand, like yogurts, are good for your diet.</p>
<p>Recipes of vegetable dishes for people suffering of hemorrhoids</p>
<h2>Pumpkin Salad Recipe</h2>
<p>Ingredients:</p>
<ul>
<li>500 gram of grated pumpkin</li>
<li>3 grated apples</li>
<li>Juice of one lemon or orange</li>
<li>Crushed walnuts</li>
<li>3 table spoons of honey</li>
</ul>
<p>Mix all the ingredients together.</p>
<h2>Onion Salad Recipe</h2>
<p>Ingredients:</p>
<ul>
<li>1 large onion</li>
<li>2 hard boiled eggs</li>
<li>1 apple</li>
<li>50 gram of grated cheese of any kind</li>
</ul>
<p>Cut the onion in small slices, pour boiling hot water on it and then cold water. (Boiling hot water will make the onion less bitter)</p>
<p>Slice the eggs and mix all the ingredients together. Now add olive oil and lemon juice to taste.</p>

This number is not surprising, since most of us lead a sedentary lifestyle, eat incorrectly, walk, sit and stand in bad posture, and many hardly do any physical activity.</p>
<p>The interesting thing is that back pain is not really a disease on its own, it&#8217;s only a symptom that your body is unhealthy.</p>
<p>For those of us who stays in the same bad posture for extended periods of time and performs a monotonous job, back pain could be accompanied by a sharp muscular spasm.</p>
<p>The condition usually begins with a sudden sharp pain in a waist, less often with some dull pain which eventually grows into sharp pain. When this happens the person cannot bend or unbend, back muscles are very strained and painful and a slightest movement or a physical pressure aggravates the pain. Trunk mobility becomes very limited. The pain is often unilateral. Pressing around the waist area causes sharp pain.</p>

<h3>Self-Healing Technique</h3>
<p>Now let&#8217;s talk about how you could help yourself in case you get back pain.</p>
<p>According to Su Jok the backbone corresponds to certain areas on our palms. You can see the corresponding areas on figures 1 to 4.</p>

<p>Next, you need to find the exact areas that correspond to your specific pain.</p>
<p>The pain in the area between the most acting cervical vertebra and bottom edge of scapula is presented in figures as &#8220;Thoracic vertebrae T1-T8 (Upper back)&#8221;.</p>
<p>The pain in the area between edge of scapula and the waist is presented in figures as &#8220;Thoracic vertebrae T9 -T12 (Middle back)&#8221;.</p>
<p>The pain in the area of the waist is presented in figures as &#8220;Lumbar vertebrae L1 &#8211; L5 (Waist)&#8221;.</p>
<p>The pain in the area between the waist and the tailbone presented in figures as &#8220;Sacrum S1 &#8211; S5&#8221;.</p>
<p>Areas corresponding to the backbone on fingers (figure 3) are located on each finger except for your thumb (figure 3 shows one finger as an example).</p>
<h3>Treatment</h3>
<h3>Step 1</h3>
<p>Find the most painful points on one or several of the areas depicted on figures 1, 2, 3, and 4 (for this purpose it is very good to use a massage stick ) and then massage these areas. This is the same technique as explained in &#8220;<a href="/healing/2008/07/how-to-prevent-repetitive-strain-injury-rsi-self-healing-techniques-series/">How to Prevent Repetitive Strain Injury</a> (RSI)&#8221; step 2.</p>
<p>Do this procedure for 10-15 minutes.</p>
<h3>Step 2</h3>
<p>Next step is to massage areas on your fingers (figure 3 ) corresponding to your back pain using a spring ring. If you can&#8217;t find one use an ordinary elastic band. Make movements along the finger according to figure 5.</p>

Some developed that during their childhood, while reading too much with a flashlight at nights, others have been progressively losing their sight with age. Bad eyesight can have different manifestations &#8211; some can&#8217;t see well at a distance, others can&#8217;t see close objects unaided.</p>
<p>Whatever your problem is don&#8217;t rush to go and get a eyeglasses prescription, instead try to improve your eyesight by yourself. Getting glasses is like taking drugs, instead of taking care of the cause of the problem, glasses only help deal with manifestation of the problem.</p>
<p>The following techniques from Su Jok will help you improve your vision.</p>

<h3>Self-Treatment Technique</h3>
<p>Start with massage of points on your hand according to figure 1.</p>
<p>Using a little stick with a not too sharp edge (a toothpick with a broken sharp edge, ball pen without ink and will do). Press these points with a moderate effort and begin a slow rotation of the stick in two directions. Do this procedure 1-2 times a day.</p>
<p>Next using a red felt tip marker paint those points you&#8217;ve just massaged (figure 1). Do this procedure 3 times a week.</p>

<p>Do this treatment for a month then make a break for a few weeks and if your sight doesn&#8217;t improve repeat the treatment for another month.</p>
<p>Note: You can apply the treatment to either hand (or both), but Su Jok therapy recommends? the right hand for women and the left one for men.</p>
<h3>Case Study</h3>
<p>A patient of mine, 45-year-old woman told to me that her daughter had a conjunctivitis virus and after a while my patient caught this illness as well. Hers eyes were very red, purulent and her eyesight drastically worsened. She was treated by her oculist and in two weeks the virus went away, but her sight gotten even worse. The patient complained that everything seems to be foggy to her. Her doctor told that process of sight restoration can take up to two years. She was in a shock because her specialty was pedicure and manicure and she couldn&#8217;t do her work without her good eye vision.</p>
<p>She was in despair and I suggested to treat her using Su Jok technique.</p>
<h2>Diagnosis</h2>
<p>According to Su Jok theory a decrease of a sharp sight is connected to an excess of Dryness or Coldness energy.<br />
Conjunctiva of eye has to do with Heat energy in structure of Liver meridian. Therefore the aim of the treatment was to reduce of subbranch Dryness of Heat branch of the UM-Wind energy.</p>
<h3>Treatment</h3>
<p>According to my diagnosis I performed acupuncture on byol meridians and on points corresponding to eyes in the different corresponding systems ( figure 2 ).</p>

<p>In addition I told her to apply grains of black pepper on corresponding points at home.</p>
<p>I did three sessions of this treatment. After first session her sight improved by about 30%, after second session she could see almost normally and after the third one her sight was completely restored.</p>
<p>My patient was very surprised that the whole treatment took just a single week, whereas her doctor predicted a very long recovery period.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s probably safe to say that this is the most common disease. The cold, nasal congestion, sore throat, cough and accompanying problems such as headaches and discomfort are symptoms of this acute respiratory disease.</p>
<p>While it&#8217;s possible to treat this disease, the best is to avoid getting it in first place, in particular for children, who have the hardest time coping with it.</p>
<p>Su Jok therapy has some simple techniques one can use to prevent and to get rid of this disease.<br />

<h3>Step 1</h3>
<p>First you need to find necessary points for our treatment. These points are on our hands and they correspond to nose, throat and larynx. See figures 1 and 2.</p>

Massage these areas using a little stick with a not too sharp edge (a toothpick with a broken sharp edge, ball pen without ink and will do). Find most painful points of these areas and press these points with a moderate effort and begin a slow rotation of the stick in two directions ( figure 3 ).</p>

<p>Do this procedure 2-3 times a day if you &#8220;caught&#8221; the common cold and once a day in order to prevent the disease.</p>
<h3>Step 2</h3>
<p>Heat up these areas as seen on figure 4</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are those lucky women who experience no pain during their menstruation period, there are those that have slight pain and there are those unlucky ones for who get their private experience of a several-day hell, month after month. Women in the latter group often can&#8217;t even go to work or school and have to resort to anesthetic medicine to cope with pain. For some women the pain could last for two to three days after the period is over. The pain is typically accompanied by uterine cramps, also known as dysmenorrhea.</p>
<p>It is possible to get rid of pain during menstruation and uterine cramps or to at least considerably reduce it using Su Jok therapy, which each person can do on their own and requires no visits to doctors or medicine use.</p>

<h3>Self-Treatment Technique</h3>
<p>First you need to find the areas on your hands that correspond to the problematic areas in your body according to Su Jok. The areas to be treated are uterus, ovaries and hypophysis. The corresponding areas on your hands can be seen on figure 1.</p>

Continue massaging those areas for several minutes and the pain should disappear.</p>

If a discomfort is still felt, continue with the following steps:</p>
<h3>Step 2</h3>
<p>Do the following step only if you don&#8217;t have strong bleeding at this moment. If you do, skip to step 3. Heat up the same points <a href="/healing/2008/07/how-to-use-moxa/">using Moxa</a>.</p>
<h3>Step 3</h3>
<p>Massage the proximal phalanx on each finger using a spring ring as shown on figure 3.</p>

<p>You can order the spring ring from Internet. If you can&#8217;t find one use an ordinary elastic band. Make a longitudinal movements along a phalanx.</p>
<p>Repeat this step a few times a day.</p>
<h3>Step 4</h3>
<p>Finally apply seeds to these points. You can use apples, pears or grape seeds. This is the same technique as explained in &#8220;<a href="/healing/2008/07/how-to-get-rid-of-neck-pain-self-healing-techniques-series/">How To Get Rid Of Neck Pain</a>&#8221; step 3. Leave these grains in place for an hour or two.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cramps of a spastic character in legs (mostly in the gastrocnemius muscles, located in the back part of the lower leg) often occur at night forcing the person to wake up, jump from the bed and to groan from a pain. Recently my uncle who lives in another city called me and told me that he had strong pains in gastrocnemius muscle and asked me to help him get rid of the cramps, which I did. Here is his story:<br />

<blockquote><p>One night two month ago I suddenly felt a strongest pricking pain in gastrocnemius muscle of the left leg. I had a feeling that there was a huge needle inside my leg trying to burst out. The intensity of the pain was insane &#8211; I could hardly bear it. Towards the morning the pain went away and did not come back for about ten days. And then the pain came back with the same intensity. This time it didn&#8217;t go away in the morning, but persisted till afternoon, almost without a break in waves: one second sharp pain, the next second it&#8217;d go away, just to reappear again. It felt as if something was getting contracted inside my leg, either the muscles or the veins.</p>
<p>I visited my family doctor. He suggested that I try an ointment prescription, but it didn&#8217;t help. Therefore next I tried to find an alternative solution, and that&#8217;s when I remembered that Felix practiced alternative medicine. I made an appointment with him, and it was a blessing.</p>
<p>Felix applied acupuncture to the tips of my fingers and the pain immediately disappeared. It came back the next day with almost the same intensity and disappeared in about 10 hours. The next day the pain returned but with lesser intensity and disappeared in about 8 hours. That was the last time I had the pain. It&#8217;s been more than a month and I&#8217;ve been pain-free. Life is good again!</p></blockquote>
<p>At the end of this article I shall show as I for have once cured my uncle, but this explanation is more for experts on Su Jok therapy. However first I&#8217;m going to teach you how you could get rid of this problem by yourself.</p>
<h3>Muscle Cramp-Elimination Self-Healing Technique</h3>
<p>Begin with a massage of middle and proximal phalanxes of middle and ring fingers on one of your hands.<br />
Use a spring ring for this massage. You can order the spring ring from Internet. If you can&#8217;t find one use an ordinary elastic band. Make movements along the phalanx of the finger as shown on figures 1 and 2.</p>

<p>If you have a problem with your gastrocnenius muscles concentrate the movements on the middle phalanx and if the pain is above the knee concentrate the movements on the proximal phalanx. Do this procedure for a few minutes.</p>
<p>Now you are going to <a href="/healing/2008/07/how-to-use-moxa/">use Moxa</a> to heat up the area corresponding to your gastrocnenius muscles. Light up moxa and bring it close to the middle phalanx from the interior of the palm. Keep it at distance of about 1cm (?&#8221;) from the surface of the skin. Apply the heat while moving Moxa along the middle phalanx, according to figure 3.</p>

<p>Do this procedure till your skin gets slightly red (but be careful not burn your skin &#8211; if it&#8217;s too hot move Moxa away and then try again).</p>
<p>At last take red felt tip pen and mark 3 points according to figure 4.</p>

<h3>Treatment of the Case</h3>
<p>Now I come back to the case described in the beginning of this article.</p>
<p>According to Su Jok theory my patient suffered from an excess of Coldness energy. The coldness energy according to this theory can be the cause of cramps in legs.</p>
<p>The goal of my treatment was to reduce the Coldness energy in structure of Liver meridian. For this purpose I made acupuncture of points that can be seen on figure 5.</p>

Here however I would like to show you how you could get rid of knee pain by yourself, without needing to go to a specialist.</p>
<p>On reaching a certain age many people are prone to suffering from knee pain, when they sit down or stand up, and walk up and down stairs. Overweight people are especially susceptible to experience this pain.</p>
<p>Knee join deformation is the main reason for this pain. This deformation occurs in the course of many years. At the beginning it manifests by sending discomfort sensations in a knee and at a more advanced stage evolves into knee swelling and pain. The pain can involve the internal or the lateral aspect of the knee, or both.<br />

When the knee is in pain, we tend to compensate with other body parts, in particular the femoral joints and the backbone, which are not designed to carry that extra load. After a period of such compensation, those body parts using to compensate for knee pain, start hurting as well. And off you go and start compensating for that new pain with yet other body parts, that are again not ready for that extra load. End so on, and so forth&#8230; Therefore it is very crucial to treat the knee pain as early as possible, not only because of the knee discomfort, but to keep the load off the backbone and femoral joints.</p>
<h3>Self Treatment</h3>
<p>Next I&#8217;m going to show you how to get rid of your knee pain or at least considerably reduce it. Using Su Jok theory, the first thing to do is to find the corresponding areas of the knee on your hand, and then stimulate those.<br />
Find most painful points on one or several of the areas depictured on figures 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 (for this purpose it is very good to use a massage stick ) and then massage these areas.</p>
